One of my many bismuth crystals.
More are available for purchase here:

I get a lot of questions about how these are made, and if I make them myself. I do. I buy a buttload of bismuth and melt it in a pot. Once melted, I cut off the heat and allow it to begin cooling. As it cools, bismuth crystals form. I extract them, sprinkle faery dust on them, and take pictures of them.

Also, yes, they are metal. These are metal crystals.

Of course, I'm leaving out a bit of info. This is because it has taken me years of work, trial and error, and a crapload of money to get it right, and I'll be damned if I'm just going to give away the tricks that have cost me a lot of blood, sweat, and blisters.

If you wish to be spared the frustration and 3rd degree burns to own one, I suggest you visit my online eBay store at:

Also, please limit critiques to the crystals themselves, not the photos. The crystals are the art; my photography sucks.
